  Streamyx got smart and officially fucked it’s customers!!

  We can’t complain about slow international access any more as streamyx’s new TOS clearly states that speedy access is only guaranteed for local content access.

  Quoted from Streamyx;

  Streamyx download and upload speed is guaranteed for local content access only.
  TM is not responsible for the low speed of either download or upload of international content access.

  

  MCMC, so how you gonna help? Your minimum requirement for broadband is 80% of the advertised speed.

  Is it just me or has the internet been freaking slow at nights for the past weeks. Streamyx has not come up with a explanation as usual. Calling them is just a waste of time…..

  How to connect to Streamyx with DLink 2640-T wireless router

  I found in my website log, apparently somebody trying to find out how to connect to Streamyx broadband using the latest DLink 2640T. Since I own one, I decided to share my settings to enable you to connect to Streamyx.

  1. First point your favorite browser to http://192.168.1.1/, enter your username and password (default: admin | admin)
  2. Web configuration user interface will be displayed, click WAN
  3. Change the VCI value from ‘8′ to ‘0′
  4. Enter your Streamyx username and password below
  5. Finally go to Tools->System. Click “Save and Reboot” there to save your changes.

  Your Dlink wireless router should be able to connect to Streamyx broadband services now.

  My Modem gone up in smoke !

  I’ve a sad news to share with everybody here, my D-Link G604T ADSL modem had gone up in smoke today. I don’t know what caused it, but I suspected long duration of use (24/7) might contribute to its demise.

  Now I’m stuck with the spare Kasda ADSL modem, hard to dial out, a bit unreliable but it does its job of keeping me connected to the internet.

  I think i need to save some money to buy myself a new modem after this, preferably one that can operate non-stop 24/7. I heard linksys and 3com modem are good but the latter is much harder to find at my place.

  Any tips on buying a new ADSL router (preferably wifi capable) ?

  Grrr TMNet suspended my Streamyx account!

  I’m so pissed because TMnet suspended my account because I was behind my bill. It’s not like I want to pay, but I was busy doing other work that I forgot to pay the bills, besides how can I remember to pay the bills if they fail to deliver them?

  Before this I used to receive printed bills everynow and then delivered by mail, and I usually pays up my bills on time, but now TMNet seems not to send Streamyx Broadband bills anymore. I’m bit busy and distracted by my work, making me forgot to pay my bills without the reminder.

  What’s worse is, I can’t even log in to tmbill website to see how much that I owe TMnet, they seems to block your streamyx account and your access to online billing system too! Give me a break, at least make the online billing system bit more friendly instead of IE6 only page.

  Note to self :

  I won’t wait for my streamyx bill anymore, I’ll check my internet bill every 15th day of the month. Damn you TMnet, I lost my productivity hours due to suspension and having to go to their office to pay up my bills (btw, I read that paying Streamyx bills through Maybank2u isn’t safe).
