problem related to ZGV installation

Hi all,
I am a beginner & I haven't installed anything on software on
LINUX. I use KNOPPIX 3.7 Live CD. I have downloaded the ZGV to view
images in Text-only mode (RunLevel 2) installation file & when I
write ./config.mk --PREFIX=/usr/local I get the following errors.

./config.mk:line11: -wall:command not found

Hi All,
I am using Apache 2.2 with mpm model as worker in RedHat 3.0.
When I do a dmesg from the command prompt I get lot of the below
message

possible SYN flooding on port 84. Sending cookies.

Terminal cable which we use for router console connection) LOM Port.

Thanks indeed for your attention, i couls solved that problem by this command "linux text all-generic-ide irqpoll pci=nommconf"
But now the cdrom isnt in the /dev/media ,so i can not mount and use it
What can i do ?

Query on memory of a process

Hi All,
I have a basic doubt about a process memory consumption.
For a particular process when I do top -p (pid) I get the RSS size of
the process, which is nothing but the memory consumption of the
process.

Now when I do cat /proc/pid/statm
whose memory output never matches with the RSS size.What is the memory

Hi sima,
seems like you have a sata hard disk and using some old version of
redhat. i would suggest you to try fedora 9, this will solve your
problem

actually i was configure a nis service in redhat el4.it was working normally
but to mount a nis sercice from a server to client machine one user only
login but other user cannot login.what is th problm?pls tell me sir

jboss server create new server.log file every mid-night and rename
old server.log in server.log.yy- mm-dd format.

how will i change this time to evening at 6pm. i.e i want jboss
should create new server.log file at 6 pm every day and rename old

etc/named.conf but i was installed a package bind.after edit a
configuration does not exit.pls tell about that.

Since it is an production server I cant remove the Pam_tally from su pam
config. And one thing is , I unable to su to this "mqm" id only from
root.

Note: I can able to su to other users from root.

But I can su to other id from root.
