  I love watching tech videos over the web (and don’t like those boring slow moving soaps on TV!) Do you?

  

  Stumbled upon Best Tech Videos (on the net) today. It aggregates technology videos from around the web. It’s does not look the best, but is a good start when you want to pick up something new on a free day!

  Any other video aggregation sites you know / use / recommend?

  Yahoo! Stencils – quickly build mockups

  Yahoo! Design Patterns Library has a set of “stencils” available to mock up your next great RIA project! The stencils are available in OmniGraffle, Visio, PDF, PNG and SVG formats. So you can use them with Illustrator or Photoshop / Gimp as well.

  

  They have included stencils for: Ad Units, Calendars, Carousels, Charts and Tables, UI Controls, Form Elements, Grids, Menus and Buttons, Mobile – General, Mobile – iPhone, Navigation and Pagination, OS Elements, Placeholder Text, Screen Resolutions, Tabs & Windows and Containers.

  That’s quite a lot – all available under Creative Commons.

  And if you were building Flex RIAs, here’s an article on using these stencils along with Flash Catalyst to churn out kickass Flex Apps with almost zero coding!

  How’s it like writing a book?

  Do you dream of writing a book? A technical one? Three years ago, I was creating my future plan and writing 6 books was one of the top items in the list. 

  Today, I have two books already in print and have learned a lot on the way. One of the lessons is to get the right publisher. I am fortunate to have Packt as the publisher of both my books – Mobile Web Development and Open Source Content Management Systems: Beginners Guide. 

  A wannabe author will have a lot of questions. They may include:

  • How is the overall experience of writing a book?
  • During the writing process, what issues/ difficulties I may expect? And how to deal with them?
  • Does writing a book overshadow personal life?
  • I have a full time job, how do I manage my time?
  • What benefits can writing a book bring to my specialist area?
